You can always count on Karla Sorensen for great characters and big feels! We have Burke, a professional football player (Grumpy) who was forced into retirement and is grieving the loss of his best friend. Said friend bequeathed him an old house in need of a complete renovation. This house came with a project manager, Charlotte who was so very passionate about the project (Sunshine) and wasn’t afraid to go toe-to-toe with Burke over the process. Their banter was fun, and watching them develop the inevitable feelings towards each other was sometimes frustrating since neither wanted to face the truth. Both of them had some healing to do (especially Burke) before their HEA, and my heart hurt for them both at times.
Love the secondary characters, especially Aunt Daphne, and I’m hoping we get Burke’s sister’s story next. The potential is there!
